Gratitude Stone #6

Appreciation for the quiet that follows an evening of illness.
No pressure in the temples; thank you.
No heaving in the gut; thank you.
And the chimes clear the night air.

Gratitude stone #5

remembering Rohatsu/buddha's awakening/Morning Star;
when filing, answering the phone, driving the car, walking Lucy,
all is practice and all is opportunity for awakening
again and again
over and over.

Gratitude Stone#4

a most elegant setting sun
amidst raging winds
bringing winter weather.

#2 A Zinc Tongue

the deep red cellophane entices opening
the label claims "lozenge may shorten duration of cold".
the lozenge dissolves/the tongue becomes dry and turns into a flapping piece of metal where once taste buds lived.

Stones of Gratitude

#1
Oh, sweet rejection, how you encourage me to keep moving forward.

Mindful Writing Day

waking up to rememberance of jealousy, pangs of embarrassment.
wanting to forgive, the solar plexus recoils and churns.
and then, Handel’s Messiah rings out Halleluja reigning down as salve.
the poison is the medicine.

A Few Stones Along the Riverbed

Information lies dormant inside this heart.
Reading her words evokes possibility awakening me from inertia.

heart pounds when the mind is unsure;
one word, one gesture, one thought
turns pound to soft.

wind kisses my cheek
this is god.

Things New.....

Coming back now, memory of re-membering.
Fragrance filters in and there seems to be a somatic continuance of experience.
Once lost/now found.

Smallstone #29

pressing the shutter an image appears,
edits take place
the visual pours into mind
through the heart and out the mouth;
Never Could I Have Imagined What You've Given Me.

Smallstone #27 by hand...

by hand:
blend brown and white sugars,
whisk 2 adobe shelled eggs,
turn in creamy peanut butter creating a honey liquid.
fold in dry ingredients;
teaspoon dropped/cross-hatched.
14 minutes of waiting and wafting;
1 minute to eat with ice cold milk.

Smallstone #26

it began with a dollop of water to the head from a scotch pine;
the earth drank its due
showing her satiation through
every leaf and branch and stone and the air.

Smallstone #24 mind, body and spirit

mind, body and spirit brought back to life with
eucaplytus moving through nasal passages while
spearmint finds its way to the neuropathways.

#23 soft sienna clayed earth

soft sienna clayed earth yields to footsteps as temperatures rise;
she drinks in melting snow.

Smallstone #22 bright shining smile

bright shining smile
soprano/alto voice
self-awareness beyond your years
articulation/distortion/fast/furious fusion
pouring out your Piscean fingers through your 7-string
into the gloaming;
and that will be that.

Smallstone #21 embracing this moment

embracing this moment;
heart pounding/mind racing/deep breath;
one one thousand, two one thousand,
coming and going,
still here.

Smallstone #20 ginger-ale...

gingerale bubbling down the back of the throat
followed by a shiver of cold that begins at the top of the shoulders,
down the inside of the arms and voila!
goosebumps!

Smallstone #19 pota and pans...

pots and pans all lined up like the ziegfeld follies;
they know how to stay still.
